GYS CHINA, founded in 2004, is located in Minhang district, southwest of Shanghai. It is a French invested company, which shares two main activities: procurement and production.

1/ Procurement:

Cooperating with a Chinese trading company, the procurement office in China (GPOC) optimises the purchasing condition for GYS in France. For 2006, the purchase volume will reach more than 12 million RMB.

2/ Production:

The company currently manufactures 3 mains products:

• Battery chargers
• Welding cables
• Booster cables

GYS CHINA enjoys an area of 2400 square meters, with over 40 employees. The factory owns a fully integrated production process, with workshop of serigraphy, electronic assembly, transformer, battery chargers and cables assembly. The products are exported to GYS in France.

3/ Future objectives:

• In short term: manufacturing simple products and some semi-finished parts for GYS’ factory in France.
• In middle term: Increasing the range of products mainly in terms of battery chargers.
• In long term: building up an autonomous company which specialized in manufacturing, processing and selling battery chargers, welding equipments and their accessories in China and Asia, as GYS in Europe.

4/ GYS commitments:

• GYS is providing technical and financial support to GYS China.
• The growth of GYS China will depend on the ability of the management to absorb the GYS’ way of operating the business.
